    PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The House of the Dead 4 is the fourth sequel shoot'em up arcade game with a horror theme in The House of the Dead series which is a continuation of the previous storyline. Players can play either with James Taylor from the previous series or Kate Green, a new character to the series. The House of the Dead 4 introduces several new gameplay concepts. The player can reload the gun by shaking it and can also throw grenades to kill groups of enemies. Additional grenades can be earned by completing certain tasks or by shooting crates.

The best way to kill the enemies is to go for headshots rather than spraying ammo at the enemy where a critical shots counter is incremented. Getting hit, or killing an enemy not by the head resets the counter. The enemies will attack in three modes the common hit attack, the grab attack or the push. The first inflicts one point of damage, while the second forces a shaking sequence and if player does not escape will result in the player being bitten or the player's character thrown down to the ground and vulnerable. Multiple zombies may also pile on top and stomp over the players.

There are a limited amount of secrets in The House of the Dead 4 where hidden treasures, such as coins and golden shapes, can be found increasing the player's score. Extra lives can also be found.

The House of the Dead 4 is the first game to run on the Sega Lindbergh arcade system board. Another important feature to mention are the Full HD monitors used the Mitsubishi's 2005 62" DLP 16:9 widescreen for the "Super Deluxe" cabinet, the Mitsubishi's 2005 52" DLP 4:3 for the "Deluxe" sized cabinet and the smallest version uses a Sanwa 29" 4:3 for the "upright" cabinet.
